Sandbach Town Council Finances

The Council’s finances are strictly regulated due to the requirement to protect public funds and ensure that the public receive value for money.

The Council is subject to 3 internal audits to objectively check its accounts and financial procedures. The Council’s final accounts are prepared and then published for inspection and subject to a final external audit. The Annual Governance and Accounting Return is completed by Council and then submitted to the Government as a statutory requirement.

The Council’s annual budget is set every year by Full Council and seeks to deliver the Council’s Corporate Strategy. The budget setting process takes account of policy and spending decisions taken by Council during the year and the effect of inflation.
