CEC's cabinet has approved a £2m new homes bonus fund to assist communities where new housing developments have been built between 2011 and 2017. The scheme will run for 2 years and is designed to achieve positive benefits based on locally-identified needs. The fund will give local councils and the voluntary, community and faith sector an opportunity to apply for projects that can make a lasting difference to communities and, as such, the minimum grant figure is set at £10,000 with no upper limit.

Cheshire East Library Service regularly reviews library opening hours across the service.  This is to ensure that they provide an efficient and effective library service for customers, in their community, at the busiest time, and for the best value.

They want to open Sandbach Library an additional 2.5 hours per week.  These changes will mean they can use staff more effectively at busier times of the week.

NEW TOWN AND VILLAGE ENTRY SIGNS FOR SANDBACH

Sandbach Town Council is pleased to announce that new town and village entry signs are in the course of being installed at several key locations across Sandbach.

The project was started in 2009 by Cllr Graham Bell, who did an excellent job on the design and specification for the signs, but although a new sign at Wheelock Wharf was installed at that time, other signs were put on hold in the absence of funds.
