Press Release – Draft Corporate Strategy and Small Common Refurbishment Engagement 25.4.2022

Draft Corporate Strategy and Small Common Refurbishment Engagement

Have your say in Sandbach!!!

Sandbach Town Council has launched its DRAFT CORPORATE STRATEGY and wants YOUR VIEWS on how to develop and deliver its priorities covering our health and wellbeing, economy, environment, community engagement, and the functioning of the Town Council itself.

In a statement, Town Mayor Cllr Geraint Price Jones said:

‘Following an unprecedented period of Pandemic, staffing pressures, several local elections and an ever changing pressures due to an increase in the town’s population to over 21,000 we have now reached a period of relative stability. The council will always meet new challenges but the purpose of the strategy is to be on the front foot working with the local community and not reacting to change but making it.

Due to the efforts of the staff, councillors and the community – especially the key workers and covid volunteers – we have come through an extremely testing time and feel ready to meet the changes that face the town as we look forward to the many challenges that will keep emerging over time. The strategy, like the recently completed Neighbourhood Development Plan refresh, will be an organic document that will change and refresh to meet the needs of our town.’

You can view the strategy in full on the Town Council Website at

https://sandbach.gov.uk/sandbach-corporate-strategy-document-consultation/

And you can discuss it directly with Members of the Town Council at the Indoor Market each Thursday

But you must let us have your views by 15th May 2022.

The Council would also like to have YOUR VIEWS on plans for the REFURBISHMENT AND MODERNISATION OF THE SMALL COMMON CAR PARK

The small common car park, behind the Town Hall, was transferred from Cheshire East Council to the Town Council in 2012. Currently it is used for parking and for part of the Town’s outdoor market. It is in poor repair and the Council wants to refurbish and modernise this space to reduce maintenance costs and make this area a key feature of the town.

New plans provide a vision for how this area could look and you can see these on the Council’s website, in the Sandbach Library or by visiting the indoor market on market day.

We want to make sure the resources we have work best for you and so your views are an essential part of the process.

Please take this opportunity to contribute to your town’s future.
