Sandbach Park

Main features in Sandbach Park include:

• A Junior Play area, complete with zip wire
• Toddlers Play Area situated in the Sensory Garden, which also houses a ‘Bug Hotel” Boules Pitch

Elworth Park

Elworth Park was refurbished in 2013 accessing section 106 monies.

A Friends of Elworth park group was formed and a new play area was developed to accommodate different age groups ranging from 8-14 years.

As part of the refurbishment new picnic benches and seats were installed, and some art work was commissioned in the form of wooden sculptures of foxes a large one and a smaller one.

A competition was held at the local primary schools to name the larger fox and the chosen name is Freya.

New bespoke gates and railings were also part of the refurbishment.

Friends of Elworth park continue to raise funds and have recently installed a raised bed for herbs.

Mortimer Drive play area

The reopened Mortimer Drive play area has proved massively popular with local families after it was refurbished in a project supported by Cheshire East Council.

Residents formed the Friends of Mortimer Drive Play Area group and set about securing substantial funding required to complete the project, working together with Ansa Environmental Services to redesign and refurbish the play area for today’s children and future generations.

The project received a £50,000 grant from WREN, a not-for-profit business that awards grants to community projects from funds donated by FCC Environment to the Landfill Communities Fund and additional substantial funding came from Cheshire East Council, Morris Homes, Sandbach Town Council and Plus Dane Housing.
