SANDBACH TOWN COUNCIL PRESS RELEASE

PUB WATCH RADIOS SCHEME GOES LIVE!

The Town Council is delighted that the much-anticipated Sandbach Pub Watch Radio Scheme is going live in the town this week. The Council has invested £5,412 to invigorate and extend an earlier successful scheme so that many more venues within the town can participate, along with two additional venues and the Town Hall. Police colleagues, Sandbach Pub Watch, business owners and the Town Council have all worked together to launch this important next step.

There are now 37 radios within the whole scheme allocated across participating venues across the town. The Town Mayor, Cllr Kath Flavell said ‘these radios allow faster and direct communication with scheme participants, Police and CCTV operators so that incidents can be dealt with swiftly and safely.

This will help to make the Town Centre an even more attractive place to visit and enjoy, knowing that systems are in place to protect businesses, public and premises if assistance is required’.
