Transport Festival

“The 2023 Sandbach Transport Festival will be taking place over the weekend 22-23 April. The main sponsor of the event is Sandbach Town Council – this year providing £18,000 – without their support and encouragement the event would not take place.

The Mayor of Sandbach will open the festival at 10.00 am on Saturday and present Certificates on Sunday before the Parade. Compared to last year there will be reduced road closures on the Saturday – mainly around the Scotch Common Car Park. On Saturday 22 April there will be special events and displays.

We will have a motorcycle stunt team and plan to highlight the emergency services. We also hope to focus on Foden’s and ERF. On Sunday will be the main display of vehicles and motorcycles, followed by a final Parade. On the Saturday 1-9 pm and Sunday 23rd 12-4 pm there will be a Music Festival on the Cobbles.

The festival will be hosting local singers and artists. Headliners include Adele, Amy Winehouse, and Coldplay tribute acts. On both days there will be activities in Sandbach Park, especially for children.

We would like to thank everyone for their fantastic support of last year’s event and welcome you all to the 2023 Festival.”

Sandbach town centre was bright and busy for the Christmas Market

Councillor and Mayor Kath Flavell said, “The people and traders of Sandbach turned out in force to create a wonderful start to the festive season in our town. I am grateful for the efforts of Town Council staff, colleague Members and the excellent musical performers who did so much to create a brilliant atmosphere. Of course, it is important to remember that at this difficult time, Christmas is a challenge for many people, but this market provided an affordable source of good cheer for all.”

Chief Officer Ceri Lloyd said, “The Christmas Market, like our other events such as the Party in the Park, shows that community spirit is alive and well in Sandbach. It is the job of the Town Council to harness and support the powerful sense of local identity here and work with partners to enhance the physical, social and economic fabric of the town.”
